An Aggressive, Trial-Focused Strategy, From Your Lawyer

At the big firms, the lawyer who brings in your case passes down the work to a younger, inexperienced associate, who bills the file for whatever it can sustain to meet their billable hour requirement.  You get billed an arm and a leg, and when it gets too painful, the firm ultimately encourages you to settle for what you’ve spent on legal fees.  Some victory that is.  Meanwhile, the partner who brought you in and passed off your file is out courting new business to meet his or her quota.  This is the “Big Law” business model.   We’ve worked there.  We know how it goes.  But we take a different approach.

We value your time and money.  We work harder and smarter.  We work for a contingent fee in certain cases, and always spare you frivolous motions that get you nothing other than a big bill.  We focus on two things: Winning the case, or settling for an amount that provides you the highest “return” on your pain an inconvenience in having to bring claims into court.  The case has to work for you, not just your lawyer.

And we aren’t going to force you to settle.  It’s your case.  If you want to go to trial, let’s go.  When we take a case, we’re ready to go all the way.

We do family, employment, and business litigation.  Get in touch with us.  We can help.

Building a Powerhouse

Prior to joining Charlie Alden to form Gilbert Alden PLLC, Matt was employed at a boutique family law firm working with high net worth clients. He specializes in family law, and was named one of the Top 10 Family Law attorneys in Minnesota based on client satisfaction in 2015. Matt works in other practice areas as well, including business litigation. Matt started his own practice in 2012.

Before starting his own practice in 2013, Charlie worked at Hinshaw & Culbertson, a top-100 national law firm, where he represented Fortune 100 companies, medium-sized businesses, and individuals. He started his own practice in 2013 because he wanted the independence of running his own practice and has never looked back.

In 2015, recognizing their mutual commitment to helping individuals and businesses resolve their legal needs, Matt and Charlie merged their law firms to form Gilbert Alden PLLC.   Matt and Charlie combine their skills, dedication and experience to provide winning results for their clients.
